  • Hello 2014.

“I said to the man who stood at the gate of the year, 'Give me a light that I may tread safely into the unknown.'

And he replied, 'Go into the darkness and put your hand into the hand of God. That shall be to you better than light and safer than a known way.'”

  • in a corner.

the Orphan Child is often scared, distrustful, they put their trust in people so many times only to have it broken...

They are like a little kitten trapped in a corner who claws at even those who would help.

    There is only one Healer.

I imagine Him coming over to the corner, picking up the clawing, screaming, fighting Orphan Child... and holding them until they are still, until they realize that they are really Safe.

Because He never breaks a promise. (Numbers 23:19)

Because He understands. (Hebrews 4: 15)

Because He never ever changes. (Hebrews 3:18)

Because He loves you with an Never Ending, Never Stopping, Never Giving Up Love. (Jeremiah 31:3)

You will be safe in His arms.

He is the Healer. He sets the captive free. He binds up the Forever Broken.

  • late nights

the Golden Lady and I sat up later -- err --early around the Kitchen Table

eating potato chips and even a few chocolate crumbs from the cake made by the Fairy Girl

and talking through Life Lessons & Stories.

Halfway through she got up and went to find chocolates.

    I took one.

"You're going to need more than that."

    I took a few more.

    She took a handful. winky

We considered a Coke but it was after 1am so yeah. Maybe next time.

"How many of you feel like this life is just a freaking war? You know why? It’s a freaking war! The closer you get to Jesus, the more resistance you’ll get! The more you advance to the kingdom of God, the more shots you’ll take! Don’t be a coward who says, 'Oh, things are hard. It must not be God’s will.' The harder it gets, the closer you are to the will of God."

--Mark Driscoll, from his sermon "I Am Victorious"

  • cause I'm so tired of trying to be someone I was never meant to be

I was talking with The Golden Lady between makeup and laundry.

"I see all these Christians who walk around lost... who are just looking for a place to belong..."

"Oh yes -- the Orphan Spirit."

    She paused over the laundry.

“The Enemy can never enter into the Spirit of Adoption from the Father so he is determined to distract as many as possible so that we will never fully realize who we are in Christ. Thus we live as Orphans, trying to hide the past and failures we are ashamed of -- but He already knows and has fully paid the price on the cross.”

I've been doing all that I can
    To hold it all together
    Piece by piece.
I've been feeling like a failure,
    Trying to be braver
    Than I could ever be.

  • it's all under control

that Crazy Insane Day that you thought was going to be Normal.

oh hai. how do you do? nevermind, don't answer that...

and then you read the Devotional for the Day.

did NSA hack into the future and tell them?

more like He knew... and has it all under control.

Walk peacefully with Me through this day.

You are wondering how you will cope with all that is expected of you. You must traverse this day like any other: one step at a time.

Instead of mentally rehearsing how you will do this or that, keep your mind on My Presence and on taking the next step. The more demanding your day, the more help you can expect from Me.

This is a training opportunity, since I designed you for deep dependence on your Shepherd-King.

Challenging times wake you up and amplify your awareness of needing My help.

When you don’t know what to do, wait while I open the way before you.

Trust that I know what I’m doing, and be ready to follow My lead.  I will give strength to you, and I will bless you with Peace.

The Lord replied, “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” —Exodus 33:14

The bolts of your gates will be iron and bronze, and your strength will equal your days. —Deuteronomy 33:25

May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. —Hebrews 13:20–21

The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace. —Psalm 29:11

  • refocus.

    Sometimes life is crazy.

You almost feel like you're in a War Zone, with bombs exploding and bullets whizzing about you.

I was so refreshed and challenged by this 11 year old boy who went through all the books of the Bible and pointed out what Jesus is known as in every single book of the Bible.

He speaks with such an assurance, conviction.

  • survived.

I took a mason jar of flowers out to my car
put it on the roof and
    promptly forgot about it
only to remember as I drove off and heard it hit the brick driveway.

Horrified, I jumped out and went to rescue what remained
only to find it was completely fine, unshattered and intact.

Somehow it seemed to be symbolic for the week, amid the crashes and curveballs.

    Judges 6:23
And the LORD said unto him, Peace be unto thee; fear not: thou shalt not die.

  • a prayer

We were created to be Loved

and to live in the Overflow of that Love.

We deserve ashes... and You gave us Love.

Please open our hearts to receive more of Your Love, Daddy.

I love to hear the Golden Lady pray.
